MEDICAL MALPRACTICE

Malpractice is a negligent act by a doctor, nurse, hospital, or other health care provider.  It can result from a failure to act or from acting improperly.  Examples include: the failure to remove a surgical sponge at the end of an operation, receiving the wrong medication because of a doctor's poor handwriting, having the wrong operation performed.
